MARBLE FALLS — Whether it’s running a marathon, being a mom or working as an exclusive agent for Farm Bureau Insurance, Emily Montgomery never seems to run out of energy.

“I’m doing three marathons, four half-marathons, and two triathlons this year,” she said.

She also seems to stay just as busy at work. Though she only recently returned to employment in Burnet County, she has already achieved the second of four levels of business growth — Master Agent — and operates her own office.

She can be found at 2121 B U.S. 281 North from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays; phone (830) 693-3856. The website is www.txfb-ins.com.

Montgomery previously worked for Galloway Insurance in Marble Falls.

She is enjoying her role with Waco-based Farm Bureau Insurance, she added.

“I will come out to a client’s home, get to know all of their needs on a firsthand basis,” Montgomery said.

She likens her approach to that of a country doctor: “I prefer to make house calls.”

She was born and raised in Lakeway.  Her graduating class had 80 members.  She is married to Conner Montgomery, and they have two children. As an affiliate of the Women’s Council of Realtors, she networks with other professionals in order to better serve her clients.

Before her most recent stint in Austin, Montgomery had been on the board of Court Appointed Special Advocates of the Highland Lakes Area, and was involved with the Rotary Club and other service organizations in Marble Falls.

She started her career as a professional recruiter in 1996.  Her parents owned and operated a recruiting agency in Austin for 17 years.  After working with her parents during her high school years, she took over the business at  21 when they moved to Houston. She left the agency in 2004 after getting a phone call from her aunt, who asked, “How would you like to start an insurance agency with me?”

She began her career selling lawyers’ professional liability insurance.  She worked for two years with Capital City Insurance in Austin, then joined  Galloway.

After five  years with that firm, she wanted to branch out and returned to work for Capital City Insurance. But after being gone from Marble Falls for six months, she decided her heart was anchored in Burnet County. She returned to work here, opening her new agency.

The Burnet County Farm Bureau has 2,308 members and is growing, she said.
