BLANCO — The Blanco Independent School District board of trustees on April 17 accepted the resignation effective immediately of a middle school counselor accused of having an improper relationship with a student.
Lisa Renee Rogers, 43, was arrested April 11 at Blanco Middle School on the charge, which is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison with a conviction.
She is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a male high school student in an off-campus setting, according to authorities.
Rogers was released on a $50,000 bond the day after her arrest.
Attempts to reach Rogers or her attorney for a comment were unsuccessful.
Rogers worked for the school district for about 20 years.
Shortly after the arrest, Blanco ISD officials utilized Johnson City ISD counselors to work with students and staff who might have been affected by the allegations.
