FROM STAFF REPORTS

HORSESHOE BAY — Horseshoe Bay police are still looking for a missing 8-year-old girl who was reported missing by her grandmother Aug. 17.

The girl, Margo Murdock, is white with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 85 pounds.

Investigators believe she is in the company of her mother, 28-year-old Sonja Murdock. Police have issued a felony warrant for the woman but would not elaborate on the exact charge.

The girl’s grandmother, Sandy Hayes of Horseshoe Bay, who has legal custody, reported the girl missing Aug. 18, but she hasn’t seen the child since Aug. 17. Hayes told investigators at the time that she last saw Margo about 6 p.m. Aug. 17 when the child left for Austin with her mother. The mother was supposed to return the girl by 9 a.m. Aug. 18 but failed do to so.

Initially, there were some conflicting court documents regarding the custodial issue of the child, but the Llano County District Court issued a writ of attachment Aug. 25 clearing up the problem.

On Aug. 25, Horseshoe Bay police entered Margo Murdock in the Texas Crime Information Center as a missing person.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have also listed Margo Murdock as “missing” and in the company of her mother.

Anyone with information regarding the girl’s or the mother’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Horseshoe Bay Police Department at (830) 598-2633 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

  1. We are so very thankful to God and to all the authorities who helped find our beautiful great niece Margo! I can’t wait to see her back at her home safe and sound, in Llano at her Ma’am and Pops whom share custody with Sonja’s mother.. I also pray that when she does get to spend time at her grandparents house in HSB again she doesn’t give in and and let Sonja around her unsupervised, let alone take her anywhere. This was always a fear, and I am so happy it turned out as it has, and I feel deeply saddened of those many children still missing!
