John Clark Compton, 63, of Marble Falls passed from this life on Jan. 29, 2015, in Temple, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Feb. 13, 1951, in Borger, Texas, to Earl and Willie Meeks Compton. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force. He was an LVN by trade, receiving his schooling at St. Mary’s College in Lubbock and performing his duties through the Seton Healthcare System for many years in WIC (Womens-Infants-Childrens Care) and then, in later years, as a nurse at Northwood Health Care Center in Marble Falls. He retired in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Compton; aunt Dot Farrel; and stepdaughter Rebecca Schaller.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Patsy” of Marble Falls; daughter, Amanda Wilson and husband Jeff of Canton, Ohio; daughter Loretta Higgins and husband Douglas; stepchildren Ranata Schaller and Carla Clark; and grandchildren, Richard Schaller, Lilly Ann Schaller and Ethan Olivere.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
