LLANO — As residents searched for answers to questions regarding Medicare at the Llano County Library, clerk Chris Jones realized there was a better way to help them.

So the library is hosting a free Medicare workshop, “Understanding Your Medicare Choices,” at 3 p.m. Jan. 29. The workshop will be led by Tim Osbourne, an insurance agent and independent Medicare broker from Austin.

“We had a lot of patrons who came in and asked questions (about Medicare),” Jones said. “Mr. Osbourne had already been in the library for other insurance purposes.”

Osbourne, she said, has the knowledge to help people choose, change and enroll in 2015 Medicare Health Advantage or Supplemental Plans or Prescription Drug Plans. The workshop will last about an hour, and people can meet with Osbourne individually for additional help.

Osbourne has presented this workshop in other libraries, the clerk said.

“Even though he’s an insurance agent, he’s there to provide information,” she said. “This is strictly informational and, hopefully, helps them.”

The workshop is a first for the Llano County Library, she said, and is open to anyone wanting information, including those who have relatives who might qualify.

The library is located at 102 E. Haynie in Llano. Call (325) 247-5248 for more information.
