COTTONWOOD SHORES — New Cottonwood Shores Police Chief Tom Williams wants to introduce himself to the community during a town hall meeting Jan. 7.

“But, more important, is for (residents) to get to know us: who we are, what our plans are, what our priorities are, what we intend to do to make things safer and to make it a place where people want to live,” Williams said.

The town hall meeting is 5:30 p.m. at the Cottonwood Shores Municipal Library, 4111 Cottonwood Drive. Refreshments will be served.

Williams said he will talk about the direction of the department and his policing style, but he also wants to hear from residents and property owners.

“Good, bad, ugly — I want to hear it all,” he said.

Williams said the department was left in good shape by former chief Harold Piatt, and he wants to continue moving the department forward.

“I want to meet (the residents), tell them what a great bunch of people they are, to work together, and I need your help,” Williams said. “Let’s go forward, and if you’ve got questions, ask them.”
