Margaret Stokes Brown

Margaret Stokes Brown, 93, died Oct. 21, 2012, in Round Rock. She was born March 12, 1919, in Houston to Stokes and Eula Pearce Brown.

She worked as a secretary for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. and Todd Shipyard in Houston.

She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Burnet for many years.

Survivors include sister Maxine Atkinson of Tyler; nephew Thomas V. Atkinson Jr. and wife Arden of Traverse City, Mich.; nieces Mary Howard and her husband Phil of Macedonia, Ohio, and Tempe Bacarisse and husband Dan of Tyler; three grandnieces; two grandnephews; five great-nieces; and a great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Clara Brown; brother Bill Brown; and brother-in-law Thomas V. Atkinson Sr.

Visitation was Oct. 26.

A graveside service was Oct. 27 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park with the Rev. Buddy Johnston officiating.

Memorials can be made in her honor to the First Methodist Church in Burnet.
